Alpetrocol is a company based in Bogotá, specialising in providing oil and environmental services. Its activity focuses on the management of solid and liquid waste generated by the oil industry and the metalworking sector.

In 2017, part of Alpetrocol’s plant became obsolete, leading to the dismantling of those facilities.

Main functions and responsibilities of Movilex

Movilex took part in this project by collecting the surplus resulting from the dismantling, as well as surplus oil pipes, ensuring proper management and recovery of the materials obtained.

The operation was formalised under a contract with FOB (Incoterms 2010) terms, under which Alpetrocol assumed responsibility for placing the goods at the Port of Buenaventura. Movilex, in turn, covered the costs of ocean freight to Bangladesh, the final destination country where the goods were marketed.

The FOB price agreement included the work of cutting and preparing the material, in accordance with the requirements established for export.
