Panama

During the expansion of the Panama Canal locks, various industrial wastes were generated, including ferrous material, wood, plastics, and end-of-life tires. The latter were delivered to authorized waste managers for proper treatment.

Movilex participated in this project, contributing its expertise in comprehensive industrial waste management.

Main functions and responsibilities of Movilex

Movilex was responsible for the removal, storage, and decontamination of all material discarded during the expansion, on both the Atlantic and Pacific sides.

For the development of the production process, Movilex leased two industrial warehouses, one located in Colón and the other in Panama City, to which materials from the Canal were directly transferred.

This project marked the beginning of Movilex’s permanent establishment in Panama, leading to the plant that operates stably in the country today.
