Movilex has been awarded the contract for the decommissioning, treatment, and management of ferrous and non-ferrous metal waste from three heat recovery steam generators at the Colón Thermal Power Plant (Panama).

Main functions and responsibilities of Movilex

The project was approached through the deployment of a multidisciplinary team, composed of specialists in industrial decommissioning and waste treatment, ensuring a safe, controlled execution in compliance with current regulations.

The work performed involved the mobilization of approximately 4,500 tons of ferrous and non-ferrous metals which, after initial treatment at the plant itself, were sent to international markets, primarily Asia, India, and Vietnam, for final recovery.
